About The Event

This talk, led by Kaumadi Jayaweera from the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Sri Lanka, offers a glimpse into what it’s like to build a career in the museum sector. Aimed at students interested in art, creativity, and culture, this session provides insights into the dynamic world of museum work, exploring the people, processes, and creative efforts that bring a museum to life. As the Editorial Assistant at MMCA, Kaumadi will share her personal journey, from her academic background in English to her hands-on experience working with Sri Lanka’s first public museum of modern and contemporary art.


Participants will learn about the museum’s diverse activities, including editorial and translation work, and how young professionals can carve out meaningful careers that blend art, culture, and education.
